当社は、植物由来のベースオイルの含有率が80%以上のディーゼルエンジンオイル『コスモディーゼル“カーボニュート”10W-30』の開発に成功し、「バイオマスマーク(バイオマス度80%)※1」認定を取得したことをお知らせします。ディーゼルエンジンオイルがバイオマスマーク認定を取得するのは、本製品が国内で初めてとなります。
当社は、コスモエネルギーグループの一員として「2050年カーボンネットゼロ」の実現を目指しており、カーボンニュートラル・CO2排出量削減に寄与する、植物由来のベースオイルを使用した潤滑油の新製品開発を積極的に進めています。
この度、石油資源の節約と、廃棄時に発生する温室効果ガスの削減を行うべく、本製品を開発しました。通常、潤滑油を廃棄(焼却)する際にはCO2が発生しますが、本製品中の植物由来成分は成長過程でCO2を吸収しているため、ライフサイクル全体では大気中のCO2増加を抑制できます。これにより従来の石油由来製品と比較して、CO2排出低減に繋がります。
現在、すでに自社工場での生産開始に向け試製を完了しており、2022年8月より販売を開始する予定です。また、エンジン試験においては、市販の最高級合成系ディーゼルエンジンオイルと同等レベルの性能を有する結果を得ており、大手ユーザーと共同での実車試験を検討しています。
当社は、植物由来のベースオイルを利用した潤滑油製品を「カーボニュート(Carboneut)シリーズ」と位置づけ、今後、自動車用・農業用・工業用などの様々な新製品の開発と商品化に取り組んでまいります。
